What are the benefits of shutters

Wooden shutters have been a long-standing feature in townhouses and cafés, as they strike a perfect balance between aesthetics and practicality. Adjustable louvres allow total control of light, privacy and air flow. Shutters also help with insulation and keep winter draughts out.

How much do shutters cost

The price for new shutters will depend entirely on the size of window and the options that are chosen. With so many variations of materials, designs and finishes available, it is impossible to estimate the total cost without first determining the measurements for the height and width of your windows.

How do I measure my windows

To get the most accurate measurement, you should record the distance from reveal to reveal – first from left to right for the width, and then top to bottom for the length/height.

For accuracy, we always visit your home to obtain our own measurements before crafting and fitting your shutters.

What happens at the survey request

One of our experienced surveyors will visit your home, measure your windows, and show you a range of style, material and finish samples, as well as provide you with any advice if needed. Once we have the measurements and an idea of your requirements, we can then provide you with a full quote.

This whole process will generally only take 20 to 30 minutes and we offer these appointments at times that suit you – which conveniently include evenings and weekends upon request.

How do I order and what do I have to pay upfront

After your home survey has taken place and our team have taken you through all of the available options, we’ll provide you with a final quote.

If you’re happy with the quote, let us know via telephone by providing your name and the quote number. We’ll confirm the style, colour and other options chosen, as well as the quoted price, to ensure everything is correct. Once this is complete, your order will be processed.

We then take a 50% deposit which can be paid by bank transfer, debit card, credit card or cheque. The rest of the payment is taken on the day of installation, once the work has been completed and we’re happy it meets our rigorous standards.

What louvre/slat size should I choose

We generally use the size of your window to guide us as to which louvre size to recommend. We’ll take you through the different options and give you examples during your home survey.

Large louvres work well on larger windows, as the increased gap between slats will allow more light to enter the room. Smaller louvres, however, will allow more privacy even when partially open, as the slats lie much closer together.

The most popular louvre sizes are 47mm, 63mm, 89mm and 114 mm.

What colours and stains are available

We have a vast range of colours and stains from which to choose from.

How long do my shutters take to be made

Our shutters will generally take between 7-9 weeks to be delivered and installed from order confirmation date.

We’ll update you during that time to let you know how the process is coming along and to confirm the estimated week of arrival. During this time, we’ll also arrange a suitable installation date to fit your new shutters.
